Regular Who sidemen Simon Townshend and Pino Palladino are joined by drummer Scott Devours, keyboard trio John Corey, Loren Gold and Frank Simes, as well as horn players Reggie Grisham and Dylan Hart.
The band launch straight into Quadrophenia, playing it in album order with the music complemented by a Daltrey-produced visual show.
Past and contemporary footage is combined with that of the band down the years and allows their former bandmates to take centre stage.
Video footage sees John Entwistle play a thundering bass solo during 5.15, while the night’s biggest cheer comes during Bell Boy when Keith Moon takes lead vocals.
An epic Love Reign O’er Me brings Quadrophenia to a close, after which there’s a run through of some of their greatest hits."
Who Are You, Baba O’Riley and Won’t Get Fooled Again are wheeled out before Daltrey and Townshend close with the acoustic Tea And Theatre – an emotional way to end their first Manchester gig in more than a decade.
